My name is Beau Kissler. I was born in Denver, but eventually grew up in Maui, where the vibrant rhythms and colors of the ocean were my perpetual source of inspiration for art and the contemplation of mind outside of society’s firm definitions. I studied art and psychology at Sierra Nevada College in the beautiful Lake Tahoe area—a seemingly perfect mountain companion to Maui. Upon graduating with my psychology degree, I had the pleasure lecture upon, and publish my research involving the effect of meditation on creativity through Stanford University. Despite this promising future in academia, I chose to further my exploration of the psyche through paint and canvas, rather than biofeedback and computers. These colored canvases are my unique charts and graphs of my unending research to date. Each and every brush stroke is an attempt to peel back hidden layers of our reality. Specifically, I look for the invisible threads that inexplicably tie the patterns of our day-to-day life with the rest the world throughout the ages, as found in various mythologies. Enjoy.
